Helicobacter pylori, RT-PCR
Function
This test is used to detect Helicobacter pylori bacteria in patient samples. There is a strong correlation between the presence of H. pylori and histologically confirmed patients being exposed to gastritis. Gastritis is caused by inflammation of the lining of the stomach. Some examples of gastritis are peptic ulcer disease, gastric carcinoma, and lymphoma.
