Function
This test measures the levels of N-Mid Osteocalcin in the blood. Osteocalcin is the most abundant non-collagen protein in the bone matrix and is a specific calcium binder for bone. This test can be an indicator of osteoblastic activity associated with the rate of bone turnover in various disorders of bone metabolism, such as osteoporosis, primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism, and Paget's disease.
