Function
This test is used to detect Influenza H3N1 in patient samples. Influenza H3N1 can be detected by PCR before diagnosis by immunological methods, in addition; PCR gives faster results than other methods, including culture methods. Influenza H3N1 is a subtype of the Influenza A virus and was first identified in the United States in 2004. Influenza viruses cause respiratory illness that causes a variety of symptoms in humans, including nasal secretions, coughing, and decreased appetite.
