Function
This test is used to detect Cytomegalovirus (CMV) in patient samples. The PCR method is very useful in monitoring CMV replication in immunosuppressed patients or in determining the CMV viral load in the amniotic fluid of pregnant women. CMV is the most common virus that causes congenital viral infection in humans.
