C-Peptida


Function
This test checks the level of C-peptide in the blood. C-peptide is produced by the pancreas together with insulin. C-peptide testing helps in differentiating between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. In type 1 diabetes, C-peptide levels may be reduced or absent altogether. Whereas in type 2 diabetes, C-peptide levels can increase greatly.
