Glioblastoma (WHO Grade IV astrocytoma) is one of the leading causes of malignancy in the central nervous system. It has a poor prognosis, with a survival probability of less than a year. MGMT (O[6]-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase) is an enzyme that can repair DNA. This enzyme protects tumor cells from chelating agents that induce damage and induce chemotherapy resistance through these chelating agents. This test can indicate MGMT methylation status which can be a marker for selecting the right type of therapy in the early diagnosis of glioblastoma. By selecting the right type of therapy, patients can prevent high-toxicity treatments and reduce therapy costs.
