Function
This test assesses the level of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) in the blood. AMH is a type of hormone in male and female reproductive tissues. In a woman's ovaries, thousands of eggs are stored, the number of which decreases with age. Examination of AMH levels can provide an idea of the number of potential remaining eggs a woman has. This examination can also help in diagnosing menstrual disorders, PCOS, predicting the age at which menopause begins, as well as monitoring health conditions in women with ovarian cancer.
