25-hydroxy Vitamin D
Function
25-hydroxy Vitamin D is a product of Vitamin D metabolism. This substance is usually measured to indicate vitamin D concentration in the blood because of its long half-life (15 days in blood). If there is a deficiency of Vitamin D, the body can experience impaired bone strength (such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets) and impaired bone growth. In addition, several studies have also shown that lack of vitamin D levels in the body has a role in the occurrence of diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and autoimmune diseases.
