Dengue fever or dengue hemorrhagic fever is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus (carried by the Aedes aegypti mosquito bites). This examination identifies the presence of anti-dengue IgM antibodies which indicate the occurrence of dengue virus infection in the body. IgG is usually positive by day 6 of the onset of fever and can persist for life.
